Using wire, felt, faux flowers, beads, and wool, students will create a delightful flower fairy friend to wear as a pin or to sew onto other fiber art projects. Project requires nimble fingers (and possibly glasses). Bring scissors.

Lucky Lizard Lightning Pouch

Class Cost: $20

Learn to fingerweave the Lightning Weave while making a small pouch to hold your valuables.  Materials include naturally dyed wool yarn, metal concho for embellishment, and two instructional handbooks.  Out-of-class time will be needed to complete the project.  Prerequisite:  Fingerwoven Bookmark, Beyond Basic Bookmark Fingerwoven Bracelet OR Fingerweaving Your Alpaca.

Penny Rug

In the 1800?s, the penny rug was made of wool to brighten a table. Wool felt will be used & finished with a blanket stitch. Bring sharp scissors. You may choose one 2 hour class, if it works better with your schedule.

Felt a Hat

Using the resist method, you will create a soft felt hat, custom fitted to your own head! Starting with natural colored wool roving laid out over a flat form, we will use wet felting techniques, eventually adding colored accents to these original and unusual brimmed hats. All materials and tools provided — please bring 2 extra towels.

Needle Felt a Gnome

Using a single, barbed felting needle, students will create a charming, simple gnome with a pointed hat and wild beard. Brightly colored wool roving and curls will be supplied, as well as all necessary tools.
